Interactive Design

Having stumbled across the interesting fruits of  Cristina Chiappini

‘s Interactive Design Workshops at the University of Venice IUAV Cladis , they seemed a little too good not to share with you. The following are a selection of projects completed between 2006 and 2010 by students of Giovanni Anceschi and Gabriele DeVecchi’s Laboratory of Fundamentals of two-dimensional design unit and Chiappini’s Laboratory of Multimedia and Web Design unit at UNIRSM IUAV of San Marino .

The projects all utilise the body as the basis for their creations, whether it is Maria Ianiri’s somewhat hypnotic neck articulated alphabet or Andrea Morandini’s comical yet clever limb-based one, Valentini Luna’s contortionist kaleidoscope or Matteo Boscarato’s ingenious series of character portraits. All four are really quite creative and display very different interpretations of the brief presented to them. Run your mouse over each one (I’m a little sceptical of this working for iPhone/Pad users as it’s a Flash affair) and prepare yourself for the inevitable smirk of satisfaction as they come to life. Due to my inability to find an HTML-based solution, there is a pretty large gap between each piece so just keep scrolling.
